Zuckerman Institute Special Lecture

Carla Shatz will be the Zuckerman Institute’s first Visiting Scholar from October 15 - December 15, 2017.
 
On October 19, 2017, she will present a talk - “Saving the Synapse: Developmental Critical Periods and Alzheimer’s Disease."  She will discuss  her recent work on the involvement of Major Histocompatibility Class I family members and Paired immunoglobulin-like receptor B in pruning and sculpting synapses during development, and, surprisingly, in excessive synapse pruning in Alzheimer’s disease.
 
The talk will be at 4:00pm in the Greene Science Center at Broadway and 125th Street.
